This year is the 290th anniversary of the birth of Anders Chydenius. Many words have been said about him over the years: he has been an object of praise but also of mockery and irony. Oddly, he has been praised by many parties, sometimes even opposing ones.
We at the Kokkola University Consortium Chydenius have collected comments on Chydenius at anders.chydenius.fi under the title Sanottua Chydeniuksesta. The gallery of historical figures is very broad, from Gustav III to poet activists of the early 20th century. Later in the chain of comments, continuing from past to the present, we will see that Chydenius was also considered both a socialist and capitalist.
The pages represent a new section of Chydeniana, which presents the historical culture created around Chydenius.
